Saturday 14th November 2020 2 - 5pm
A start from scratch quilting class covering the techniques needed to begin your own quilt. You will end the session with a small block pieced quilt that can be used as a pot holder.
You will be guided through how to cut and piece a patchwork block, which will be the top layer of your finished piece. We will use cotton or wool batting for the hidden centre, and either hand or machine stitch all the layers together. This will then be bound together with bias binding using mitred corners for a clean finish. Fabrics will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own too.
No experience necessary, but some experience of a sewing machine will be helpful.

Natural Dyeing with Food Waste
Learn how to colour your wardrobe with waste normally destined for the compost bin. I will teach you how to prepare fabric and how to extract vibrant colour from avocado stones, onion skins and pomegranate.
We will work together to build mini scrap books detailing how we created each dye bath and the results on wool, cotton and linen.
All materials provided!
You can book either class here. I hope to meet you soon!
